Synopsis

Cocoa visits her family, in the mountains, after quite some time again after her sister Mocha wrote her, through a letter, to come back soon. Her friends will have to spend a week in the town without her, while Cocoa has time with her family that she hasn't seen for a long time. But Chino, Cocoa's self proclaimed little sister, wants to go watch, with Cocoa and all her friends, the fireworks in the fireworks festival, which is coming up in less than a week. Cocoa decides to return early as she misses them all, but will she arrive in time for the climax of the festival?

A Heartfelt Dive into "Is the Order a Rabbit dear my sister”

So, I finally got to watching "Is the Order a Rabbit? Dear My Sister," and let me tell you it’s a bit of a mixed bag for me.

First off, I've gotta give props where they're due. The movie really stepped it up a notch in terms of animation quality and honestly they did not have to the animation was already amazing. I've talked about GochiUsa twice before. And now we're looking at the film. The film came out in '17, after the second series. Now, the real question is how you make a film out of a slice of life series that has no real story and is basically just about moe girls playing around while working at cafes.

Story:

The narrative is pretty simple. Cocoa returns home temporarily to help at her family's bakery. So, we see her with her family. Meanwhile, the rest of our cast interacts with each other and tries not to feel lonely with Cocoa gone. Which is especially difficult for Chino.

I even reserved a ticket to see this movie in a theater, because I'm a such a big fan of the franchise. I expected it to be similar to the series'. And it was. But it was too similar.

It felt like the main objective was to remind the viewer of as many scenes from the past episodes as possible.
